British actor Tom Hiddleston, known to geeks far and wide for his portrayal of the fiendish Loki in the Marvel movies, is reportedly in talks to succeed Daniel Craig as the screen's next James Bond.
According to Birth.Movies.Death: "Choosing words carefully, our source confirms that while talks have indeed taken place, and that Hiddleston very much wants the job (a fact of which he’s made no secret), no official offer has been made - yet."
As the site points out, perhaps EON Productions, the producers of the Bond films, are simply trying to prod the reluctant Craig to decide whether he's up for making James Bond 25 by letting it be known they're meeting with other actors.
We reported yesterday that EON has also met with Fantastic Four's Jamie Bell about the role of Bond. Fan favorite Idris Elba's name hasn't come up as an actor the producers have actually met with for the role, but he's also tied up now with the would-be film franchise The Dark Tower.
Not sure whether Hiddleston has te tough guy potential for 007? Then check out this clip from The Night Manager below:
Fun fact: As BMD notes, Hiddleston, 35, also went to the same posh school, Eton, as both Bond and creator Ian Fleming attended.
