Dragon Quest Builders Launches in North America This Year

Dragon Quest Builders, the block-building sandbox RPG that launched in Japan early this year, is coming to North America. It will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita this October.

The goal of Dragon Quest Builders is to rebuild the world of Alefgard after it's destroyed by the Dragonlord. Minecraft-style resource-gathering and construction merges with more traditional RPG-style combat, featuring iconic Dragon Quest enemies and characters.

Our preview of Dragon Quest Builders from Tokyo Game Show last year called it "adorable" and "polished," with strong and obvious similarities to Minecraft. We named it one of our five best games of TGS 2015, alongside Metal Gear Online, Dark Souls 3, and others.
