A new lady character is joining the cast of Cars 3 to help Owen Wilson's Lightning McQueen learn some new skills.
According to USA Today, Cruz Ramirez is a "young, Hispanic female race car," as shown in a new piece of concept art.
Cars 3 director Brian Fee said the new character is "trying to figure out how this old dog [McQueen] learn some new tricks."
The next Cars movie will feature Lightning McQueen later on in his career, with people wondering when he might give up racing. Ramirez comes in to help close the gap between McQueen and impressive rookie Jackson Storm.
Casting for these characters has not been announced yet, but notable returning voice actors include Larry the Cable Guy (Mater), Bonnie Hunt (Sally Carrera), and Cheech Marin (Ramone).
Cars 3 is due to hit theaters on June 16, 2017, which was the spot originally destined for Toy Story 4.
