Another season of Twin Peaks isn't all that likely, according to Showtime CEO David Nevins.
As reported by IndieWire, Nevis said at the Television Critics Association press tour that while he hasn't dismissed the possibility of another season, he's not expecting there to be one either.
Showtime and David Lynch agreed they would waiting until after all of the current season aired before discussing another season. "David Lynch has been in France pretty much since the premiere event we had [in May]," Nevis said, noting he'll "probably" wait until he receives a call from Lynch before approaching the director.
While the show hasn't pulled in an especially large live, linear audience, Nevis confirmed its proportion of streaming viewers is the highest of any Showtime series, and said, "new subscriptions were driven largely by Twin Peaks."
Nevis also said he doesn't think Lynch will do a recut of the current season, and that it will likely remain tied to Showtime. "If he wants to, I'll support him, I'll pay for it, I would love it, but I can't imagine he would do that," Nevis explained.
