Ubisoft has announced it's opening a new studio in Stockholm, Sweden and has appointed former EA DICE manager Patrick Bach to lead its efforts.
The studio, aptly named Ubisoft Stockhom, will work on AAA projects with Massive Entertainment, the Sweden-based Ubisoft studio behind The Division. In a post on Ubisoft's official blog, Bach confirmed the team will work with Massive on new game based on James Cameron's Avatar, which Ubisoft has previously said won't be released before 2020.
In addition to working on the Battlefield Bad Company games and Battlefield 3 and 4, Bach oversaw the development of Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield 1 and Mirror's Edge Catalyst at DICE.
Ubisoft Stockhom has begun recruiting and aims to have a team of 100 within two years.
