The Division Update Adds Global Events, New Gear, More

Free update now live for PC, PS4, and Xbox One players.

The Division's 1.7 update is out now and it adds several changes to the game.

According to Ubisoft, the free update brings with it Global Events, which are week-long themed events that will let players earn new vanity items and classified gear via earned Tokens. Some of these events will also have global modifiers, which will affect regular PvE missions and the game's map in interesting ways.

Players can also look forward to acquiring the new classified gear sets, which grant bonuses for equipping five or six pieces at a time. There are also plenty of new cosmetic items, with patches and faces masks that can be earned by completing challenges.

New encrypted caches, which can be unlocked by finding or purchasing keys, will contain new emotes, outfits, and skins. Additionally, you can now re-customize and change your character's appearance for the first time ever at the Base of Operations.

For the full list of changes, including a detailed list of all the bug fixes, new missions and skills, and balance changes, check out Ubisoft's patch notes.

Also be sure to check out the seven builds you should be using in The Division and the first things you should do in the game.
