Starbreeze and developer Lion Game Lion have confirmed four-player co-op shooter Raid: World War II will be available on PC from September 26. It will be released in-store and online for Xbox One and PS4 in October (Tuesday, October 10 for North America and Friday, October 13 for European territories, Middle East, and Asia).
Raid: World War II is a co-op first person shooter that will see players battle and rob their way through occupied Europe. It sounds a lot like a period version of Payday, but the game’s pedigree makes this no surprise. Lion Game Lion, based in Zagreb, Croatia, has been building DLC for Starbreeze and Overkill Software’s extremely successful Payday 2 for some time. Also, Raid: World War II game director Ilija Petrusic was the co-founder of Overkill Software and lead level designer for Payday: The Heist and Payday 2.
“The goal in Raid: World War II is simple – sabotage, assassinate and pulverize everything bearing a swastika – mess with Hitler and steal his treasures,” said Petrusic in a statement.
Raid: World War II’s four heroes – who hail from Great Britain, USA, Germany, and the Soviet Union – will be customisable, as will the game’s weapons. The class-based gameplay – Recon, Assault, Insurgent, or Demolitions – will also cater for a variety of preferred play styles.
