New Xbox Controller Adapter Delayed to 2018 in US

Currently slated to arrive first in Japan later this month.

Microsoft's new, smaller Xbox Wireless Adapter has been delayed.

Windows Central reports the adapter was originally meant to launch last week on August 8 in the US, with a slow rollout across other markets. However, a Microsoft representative confirmed to the outlet that the adapter will now release on January 31, 2018 in North America.

The adapter is currently slated to launch first in Japan on August 24, while New Zealand and Australia will get it this September, ahead of its January 2018 launch in the US and Canada. It's not yet known when the device will be available in other countries.

Microsoft first announced this revised version of the Xbox Wireless Adapter in the beginning of August. The $25 USD device is used for connecting Xbox One controllers to Windows 10 PCs, and is one-third the size of the original adapter.
