As Marvel Legacy approaches, Marvel Comics is continuing to reveal more details about the various comic books that will be relaunched with original numbering and focus on Marvel's history and classic characters. We have new details about the ongoing series Captain America, The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, Thanos and the satirical one-shot Not Brand Ecch.

IGN: How does this new Captain America run embrace the idea of Marvel Legacy?
Mark Waid: It's very much a hearkening back to a more bombastic, classic era of Marvel, with a more modern feel. Chris [Samnee] and I are working to wed the grandeur of the Silver Age Captain America of yore with today's Steve Rogers and today's Marvel Universe, and we're having a ball.
IGN: Will your run be dealing with the consequences of everything Steve did in Secret Empire?
Waid: Our issues are set several months after the conclusion of Secret Empire. As great a story as that was, and we will refer to it, our mission is to look forward and create new adventures.
IGN: You two are teaming up again, so what made Cap the next project you wanted to tackle together? And how will your Cap run be different than what you did with Daredevil and Black Widow?
Waid: Once Widow was wrapped, we shopped the team around and got a bunch of offers from Marvel editors. Chris was way overdue for a run on an A-list Marvel hero, though, and when Cap opened up, we were thrilled to jump in. Just as our Widow run was tonally different from our Daredevil run, our Cap issues are a departure in style, mixing the best of both of our previous works, emphasizing humanity and high adventure in equal measures.
IGN: What's it feel like coming back to Cap again now that he's in such a different spot, both in continuity and in pop culture?
Waid: Daunting, honestly. It's very, very rare in comics for a writer to get three bites of the same apple--four, if you count the "Man Out of Time" mini-series--and I wouldn't have risked coming back if I'd had to go it alone. But with the Dream Team behind me--Chris, colorist Matt Wilson, and letterer Joe Caramagna--I'm surrounded by guys who are arguably better at what they do than I am, and that's one hell of a safety net.

IGN: How does The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows embrace the idea of Marvel Legacy?
Nick Roche: It's all about Power And Responsibility: The Next Generation, with all the benefits and drawbacks that come with those burdens. I'd like to think it'll be a book that helps parents figure out their kids, and vice versa.
IGN: Time jump! Can you explain the thought behind fast-forwarding 8 years to when Annie is a teenager?
Roche: I'm the owner/operator of two under-fives, so this book is serving as a warning from the future. The questions thrown up by the book are fascinating. Would Peter Parker have had the same humility and strength of character if he'd been born with powers like Annie has? At least when my two are in their teens, they won't have potentially destructive super powers to amplify the mood swings. (Right...?)
IGN: Who can we expect to see as the villain in this new arc?
Roche: "Villain" singular? I've drawn at least six already...
And this is a Spidey-book; the Parkers aren't know for the golden good fortune. An unexpected bill is more likely to thwart them than any Osborn. Even with a time jump, Pete and Fam aren't lucky enough for THAT much to change.

IGN: How will Thanos embrace the idea of Marvel Legacy?
Donny Cates: No one has risen higher and fallen faster than the Mad Titan. Over the years Thanos has come closer to victory than probably any other Marvel villain and has been met with defeat every single time. I mean, he famously killed half of all life in the universe and still wound up on the wrong end of the scorecard. Time and time again, we have seen Thanos falter on the edge of glory. And I for one think it’s about damn time the devil got his due.
We’re going to show you what happens when Thanos wins. And just how…horrific that would really be. For everyone.
IGN: Thanos has had a pretty rough time in his solo series thus far, but now it sounds like he's going to come out a winner. What can you tell us about what has changed for Thanos?
Cates: Yeah, Jeff Lemire's run was (IS) just incredible. It was exactly the kind of high-stakes cosmic adventures that I LOVE in Thanos stories. Equal parts grand and poetic and "punch it until it dies" intense. So when Jordan D. White, our editor, offered me the gig, I knew immediately what I wanted to do, and how I was going to do it. Jeff had laid such a strong foundational voice on the book, It was very easy to step into the character and the tone, while also making the book my own.
I'm also just kind of a cosmic Marvel nut and Thanos fanboy already, so this has just been a blast for me.
So yeah, I can’t tell you much in the way of what, exactly, precipitates Thanos' victory in our story, or even the modality by which it’s achieved. But I can tell you that this is perhaps the strangest and most unbelievably brutal story I have ever written. I'm continually shocked by the things Marvel lets me get away with on this.
I’m not exaggerating whatsoever when I tell you this book has given me nightmares. It’s been hard to shake this one off when I clock off for the day. And let me tell you… having Thanos, especially THIS Thanos in your head when you close your eyes is not something I would inflict on anyone.
IGN: What threats and antagonists can we expect Thanos to clash with now that he's in such a powerful position?
Cates: Threats? The story is titled Thanos WINS.
