Justice League Has a "More Traditional Batman" Than BvS

“He was holding on to a lot of anger, in a little bit of an irrational way."

Batman is a lot more traditional in Justice League than we was in Batman vs. Superman, according to Ben Affleck.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Affleck revealed that the reason why BvS slightly departed from the Batman people have known and loved is because he was filled with rage.

The superhero was angry at Superman and all of his co-workers dying in the beginning of the film, so viewers never got the chance to witness a more heroic Dark Knight.

“He was holding on to a lot of anger, in a little bit of an irrational way,” said Affleck. However, in Justice League Batman is finally doing "things in his own way," and "wants to save people, help people.”

Affleck compares Batman in Justice League to a more classical incarnation of the Caped Crusader that you often see in the comics, especially when he teams up with the other DC superheroes.

“This is more the Batman you would find if you opened up your average Batman comic book," said Affleck.

Justice League opens in theaters on November 17. For more on the film, read about why Affleck thinks it is an "interesting product of two directors" and why the film's recent reshoots adjusted the tone of Cyborg.
