Dragon Ball FighterZ: Four New Characters Announced

Androids ahoy.

Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, Android 16 and Android 18 have been announced for Bandai Namco's upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Siliconera has received information from the latest issue of Jump magazine, which details the new arrivals for the long-running franchise's new brawler.

Details are fairly thin, but Android 18 will definitely be a playable character, and seems to have access to a special combo attack with Android 17, although whether the latter is actually playable or only appears as support is not yet confirmed.

Continuing the android theme, Android 16 is also returning in a new "What If" mode, which is described as a "super high-end anime" mode which will feature Android 16's resurrection and subsequent assault on the Super Warriors.

In gameplay news, an online 3v3 party mode has also been announced, allowing players to team up to battle each other, with the ability to switch out in real time.

The news is timely - sign-ups for the Dragonball FighterZ closed beta open this Tuesday, August 22, with an expected release date sometime in 2018.
