Fox's upcoming Neuromancer movie has found its director in Tim Miller.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller, who directed last year's R-rated comic book movie Deadpool, will helm the adaptation of William Gibson's 1984 sci-fi novel, with X-Men film franchise producer Simon Kinberg on board to produce.
No writer has yet been attached to the project. Gibson's novel which tells the story of a computer hacker named Henry Dorsett Case, who is caught stealing from his employer and punished by having toxins damage his nervous system, rendering him unemployable. In the hopes of turning his fortunes around, he takes on a major hacking job from a shady ex-military officer who offers him a cure.
A film adaptation of Neuromancer has been a long time coming. Back in 2011, Vincenzo Natali signed on to write and direct a Neuromancer movie, but it never came to fruition.
Neuromancer isn't the only project on Miller's plate. After departing Deadpool 2, Miller signed on to executive produce Sony Pictures' upcoming live-action/CG-animated hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Additionally, it was reported back in January that he was in early talks to helm James Cameron's Terminator reboot.
