Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds, Fox on Stuntwoman Death

"We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated."

20th Century Fox and Ryan Reynolds have come forward to address the death of the stuntwoman who died today on the set of Deadpool 2.

"We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning," a spokesperson from 20th Century Fox said. "Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time."

In a post on Twitter, Reynolds offered his condolences, saying:

Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool. We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated... but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and love ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them -- along with each and every person she touched in this world.

According to the Vancouver Police, the stuntwoman, whose identity has not been revealed, died during a motorcycle stunt. The Vancouver Police Department and statutory agency WorkSafeBC are investigating the situation.

On behalf of all of IGN, we extend our condolences to the family and friends of the woman who died in this tragic accident.

Deadpool 2 began filming in June, and will open in theaters on June 1, 2018.
