The MCU film is slated for a 2019 release.
Marvel has tapped Geneva Robertson-Dworet to take over scripting duties for Captain Marvel.
According to Deadline, the script was previously being written by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out), but LeFauve left the project to co-direct Gigantic, Disney Animation's upcoming take on Jack and the Beanstalk.
In addition to Captain Marvel, Robertson-Dworet is writing the upcoming Alicia Vikander-led Tomb Raider movie and the Harley Quinn spinoff, Gotham City Sirens.
