The Nice Guys to Get Female-Led TV Series Adaptation

No word yet on a release date.

The Nice Guys is being turned into a TV series.

Variety reports Joel Silver, who produced the movie, will adapt director Shane Black's buddy cop comedy into a contemporary female-led drama for Fox with one-hour episodes. No word yet on a release date or who'll star in the show.

Silver will executive produce along with Ken Kao, Rodney Ferrell, and Michael Diliberti, who will also write the series. The show will be a co-production between Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox Television, and Silver Pictures Television.

Silver also produced the TV adaptation of Lethal Weapon for Fox, and the network is producing a TV adaptation of True Lies as well.

The Nice Guys was released in 2016 and stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. Read IGN's Nice Guys review to find out why we found the movie to be a "fun spin on the action-comedy and buddy flick genres."
