No New Diablo Announcements at BlizzCon

What's next for the series will be revealed "at some point in the future."

Blizzard has announced it won't be making any Diablo-related announcements at this year's BlizzCon.

"This year, we want to give you a heads-up that while Diablo will be on the show floor, we won’t be making any new Diablo announcements," Blizzard wrote on the Battle.net forums.

"There will be a time for that at some point in the future, but that time is not now."

While the company isn't set to reveal what's next for Diablo, BlizzCon 2017 won't ignore the series entirely. The convention, which takes place November 3-4, will feature Diablo panels for both attendees and Virtual Ticket holders, as well as a "special BlizzCon Diablo III in-game reward."

The developers are currently working on Diablo III's 2.6.1 patch, and are also, according to the post,"hard at work on the future of Diablo and exploring what’s next for the franchise."

Diablo III's most-recent DLC, Rise of the Necromancer, was released earlier this year. For more, check out IGN's Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer review, which said it "offers a refreshing new playstyle using tons of reanimated gore."

In related news, Blizzard recently launched an iOS and Android app for Battle.net.
