Gravity Rush 2's Online Services Closing After a Year

See you space cowboy...

Sony is shutting down the online functionality for Gravity Rush 2 a year after its initial release.

Fans will be locked out of most of the online features come 18th January 2018, it was announced in a blog post on Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia's website. Of course, players will still be able to enjoy Gravity Rush 2's offline modes.

Features also set to be dropped are:

  • Sending and receiving challenges
  • Ranked Leaderboards
  • Sending and receiving Treasure Hints
  • Sending, receiving and reviewing Photo Ghosts
  • Acquiring Dusty Tokens and their rewards.

In the meantime, Sony is increasing the drop rate of Dusty Tokens - an in-game currency received for sharing photos and completing challenges - as a consolation for players and their continued support of the game. Dusty Tokens are the only means by which players can unlock special costumes and talismans within Gravity Rush 2, which won't be available once the online functionality is shut down.

This event will last until the Gravity Rush 2 servers shut down next year, so if you're a fan of the game and wish to collect these items, act fast.
