The Wire, The Sopranos, More Leaving Amazon Prime

Sex and the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage will remain.

Several HBO shows that are currently available to Amazon Prime subscribers, including The Sopranos and The Wire, will be leaving the streaming service next month.

As reported by Vulture, Amazon Prime subscribers with HBO shows on their watchlists are receiving notices that many of the network's titles will no longer be available for streaming via Prime Video starting May 21.

In addition to The Wire and The Sopranos, several other shows will be leaving the service, including Six Feet Under, Flight of the Conchords, True Blood, Deadwood, Eastbound and Down, Bored to Death, the first two seasons of Veep and Girls, and more. That said, a few shows will remain, including Sex and the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage.

Amazon and HBO have yet to officially comment on the status of the exclusive partnership they entered back in 2014, but a "source familiar with the deal" told Vulture that HBO has no plans to extend its agreement with Amazon.

HBO launched its own standalone streaming service, HBO Now, the year after it signed the deal with Amazon. As such, the network's approach has presumably changed since the partnership, as it now focuses on distributing its content through its own streaming channel.
