Bandai Namco has officially whipped the cloak off its new project, Code Vein.
An early teaser flirted with Dark Souls' legacy by flashing the tagline "prepare to dine," however it gave us little details regarding how the game actually plays. Fast forward to now, and an official release has described Code Vein as a "gruelling action RPG" that takes you on "a journey across a massive interconnected world."
A series of new screenshots gives us a glimpse at what that world will look like when the game launches next year on "major home consoles." You can check them out in the gallery below.
In Code Vein, you take the role of a Revenant - a vampiric creature that can drain the blood of their enemies in order to gain new skills, weapon abilities and attacks.
As we previously reported, Code Vein takes place in the near future where society has collapsed and become overrun by supernatural creatures. The vampires are confined to an area known as the "Vein," and it's there that you can join forces with an in-game companion to try and recover your lost memories of humanity.
