Horizon: Zero Dawn Sales Pass 2.6 Million in 2 Weeks

Guerrilla is already working on a story expansion.

More than 2.6 million units of Horizon: Zero Dawn were sold worldwide during its first two weeks on sale, Sony announced today.

Developer Guerrilla Games' open-world role-playing game has now become the best-selling new IP on PlayStation 4 and the studio's "biggest debut." Sales includes both digital units sold through the PlayStation Store and physical copies sold through to consumers.

"We knew Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be something special, so to see the incredible critical reaction to a brand new game world translate into this level of sales is really gratifying," said Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios.

For comparison, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End sold over 2.7 million units worldwide in just its first week.

Guerrilla's managing director, Hermen Hulst, also revealed that fans should expect add-on content for Horizon in the near future, with the studio "already hard at work on an expansion to the story."
