Overwatch Christmas Event Begins December 13

You Better (Over)Watch Out! You Better Not Cry!

Overwatch is officially having a Christmas event and it will begin on December 13.

Word of the event comes by way of Twitter, where Overwatch's official account tweeted out a GIF of a holiday card, which includes the date along with the message, "It's the most wonderful time of the year, and we hope you'll join us for some holiday cheer!"

Although no other official details are known at this time, sound files uncovered late last month indicate new character interactions and a Christmas jingle.

More recently, via PvP Live, dataminers have discovered that Overwatch may be getting as many as four new maps with at least one being holiday themed.

In addition, Widowmaker, Mercy, Reinhardt, Reaper, Symmetra, Sombra, Roadhog, D.Va, Ana, Soldier: 76, and Lucio will get either a costume, emote, or a highlight intro, while McCree, Winston, Pharah, Mei, Zarya, Tracer, and Zenyatta will get two of the three, and Torbjorn will get all three, according to the dataminers. These details remain unconfirmed by Blizzard.

Overwatch's last holiday-themed event took place during Halloween and brought over 100 new cosmetics as well as a co-op PVE brawl, titled Junkenstein's Revenge. More recently, Overwatch won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2016.
