Carrie Fisher Reportedly in Critical Condition After Heart Attack

The actress is reportedly in "critical condition."

Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has reportedly suffered a heart attack at the age of 60 while on an international flight and is currently in "critical condition" according to multiple reports.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Fisher was in critical condition following what emergency officials described as a "cardiac episode" that occurred during her flight from London on Friday, December 23. She was then rushed to the hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department after the plane landed at LAX. A source also confirming the "full cardiac arrest" to NBC News said the actress' condition was "not good."

Fellow passengers on the plane also tweeted about Fisher's condition, saying she reportedly stopped breathing during the flight.

TMZ originally reported word of Fisher's heart attack.

IGN will update this story as more is known about Fisher's condition.

Earlier this year, Fisher released a memoir, The Princess Diarist, which includes passages from the journals the actress kept while filming the original Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. She reprised her role as Leia Organa in the franchise in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens and, according to NBC News, recently finished shooting her scenes for 2017's Star Wars: Episode VIII.
