A Classic Piece of Spider-Man's Costume Is Back in Homecoming

You'll believe a spider can fly.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will see Tom Holland's Peter Parker don a long-forgotten piece of the hero's kit - his web wings.

Reported by Omelete (and translated by Collider), a clip from the film shown (but not publicly released) at Brazil's Comic Con Experience showed web wings as an upgrade to the suit seen in Captain America: Civil War.

Installed by Tony Stark and delivered by Jon Favreau's returning Happy Hogan character, the wings are shown after Spider-Man jumps from the top of the building, with Omelete saying they maintain "the blend of retro and technological" in Tom Holland's character's costume.

The report was confirmed by Marvel Digital Media vice president Ryan Penagos:

The web wings - interwoven strands of web that stretch from the Spider-man suits waist to elbows - were a part of Spidey's costume on the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15, the character's original introduction to the Marvel Universe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017, and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei and Michael Keaton as Vulture.
