Destiny 2: Scheduled Maintenances Takes Servers Offline Today

Take a break, Guardians.

Any players of Destiny 2 - and there's at least 1.2 million of you - who have struggled to drag themselves away from their screens since the game's launch last week are being given the perfect opportunity by Bungie, which is taking the servers offline for four hours today for scheduled maintenance.

As detailed on the "Maintenance" section of Bungie's website, servers for both Destiny 2 and the original Destiny will close their doors at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST (or 12am Wednesday, September 13 AEST). Any players online at that time will be given an extra hour's grace to finish up whatever they're in the middle of before being forcibly removed from the game.

Servers will remain closed until maintenance ends - currently scheduled for 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST (or 4am Wednesday, September 13 AEST).

This isn't unusual and long-time Destiny players will certainly be used to these periods of downtime. The work will include early maintenance, as well as swapping over certain weekly events, as detailed in the game's first month roadmap.

Recently PS4 Pro players have been reporting a game-crashing error message, so hopefully the maintenance will go some way towards fixing that.
