Head of Xbox Phil Spencer recently shared his thoughts on Nintendo Switch and explained why Microsoft has yet to release a portable Xbox.
"Our relationship with Nintendo is great," Spencer said on the latest episode of IGN's Xbox show Unlocked, noting he had to opportunity to play Nintendo Switch early and thinks "they've done some really innovative work."
The Xbox boss went on to say he "love[s] the hardware design" and believes that "anytime Nintendo brings a new product to the gaming market it's good for all of us."
With regard to why there hasn't been a portable Xbox, Spencer said he's "always watching to see what happens," but Microsoft has "looked at phones as dominating that market." He noted that a lot of people currently log into Xbox Live with their iOS and Android devices to connect with friends and play games.
"I don't know that we would do a bespoke mobile device yet, but I'm gonna watch. Absolutely, I'm gonna watch and learn. People want to play their games wherever they are," he added.
