Ryse, The Walking Dead Lead April's Games With Gold

Plus: Darksiders and Assassin's Creed: Revelations on Xbox 360.

Microsoft has announced its lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers in April, with Ryse: Son of Rome and Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 2 leading the way.

The month's full lineup, along with each game's respective window of availability, can be found below, courtesy of Xbox Wire:

Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title that IGN's review called "an entertaining ride that often values spectacle over skill."

Season 2 of Telltale's The Walking Dead stars Clementine, one of the two playable characters in the series' current third season. IGN's The Walking Dead: Season 2 review said it's "big, full of great dialogue, devastating consequences, memorable and fun action scenes, and places a smart, scary plot at center stage."

IGN's Darksiders review said the action game takes gameplay mechanics and puzzle elements from multiple other games and combines them to "create something with entertaining combat, rewarding exploration, and a satisfying progression as you uncover new items and abilities."

Lastly, Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the final game in the series' Ezio trilogy. IGN's review said it "serves its lead characters well and is a very effective bookend" to the stories of Ezio and Altaïr.

As always, an active Gold subscription is required for each download, and both Xbox 360 games are playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility. Gold subscribers can still download three of March's Games with Gold: Layers of Fear, Evolve, and Heavy Weapon.
