New Red, Yellow and Pink Power Ranger Sentries Designs Revealed

Power Rangers #13 hits March 15.

More Power Ranger Sentries have been revealed, giving a new spin to some familiar characters.

The Sabertooth, Tyrannosaur, and Pterodactyl Power Ranger Sentries join the Mastodon Sentries already introduced to the series.

Writer Kyle Higgins told comicbook.com he wanted to "try something different" when working with an alternate timeline. Rather than making the Rangers evil, something Higgins called the "easiest inversion," the writer instead decided on "splitting the powers up amongst soldiers."

"We wanted each design to feel really unique," Higgins said, which is why the Pink sentry trades a bow for a sniper rifle, among other changes.

The idea for weapons tweaks came from artist Jamal Campbell. Higgins mentioned the sniper rifle specifically.

"It's a great way to do a militarized take on the Pink Ranger's most iconic weapon," he said.

As for blue sentries, Higgins said "there's a reason why there aren't Triceratops Sentries," at least, not yet.

Outside of the world of comics, Twitch is streaming Power Rangers in its entirety, all 831 episodes spanning 23 seasons. The event is the lead-up to the release of the Power Rangers movie.
