For Honor Player Estimates Unlock Times Without Paying

"This equation ignores disconnects, down servers, and all DLC/update content."

One For Honor player isn't happy with the game's microtransaction math.

Reddit user bystander007 (via PC Gamer) wondered how long it would take to unlock every customization item in For Honor — like emotes, executions, and outfits — without paying. In other words, investigating the game's grind compared to real world time.

bystander007 imagined a "casual" player spending around 2 hours a day playing the game, including completing daily missions, earning them around 1,200 Steel (the game's currency) a day.

The result? "Casual players would spend nearly 2.51 years trying to get all unlocks," wrote bystander007. "And hardcore grind players would need to spend close to 326.37 days. This equation ignores disconnects, down servers, and all DLC/update content."

These estimates don't even include DLC - with six more heroes on the way, and each hero costing around 91,000 Steel to completely unlock, that adds more than a year of extra time to the base casual player calculation.

If you did decide you want to spend the required money on every unlock (without DLC), you'll need $732 handy.

Some other people must have felt the grinding was unfair as well, because recently Ubisoft has started banning AFK farmers in For Honor.

Regardless of the grind, For Honor still was the best-selling game for February. For more, be sure to check out IGN's review of For Honor.
