Disney has released the first look at Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns.
The image shows Blunt dressed as the magical nanny with a blue peacoat and burgundy hat while standing outside what is, presumably, the Banks family's home.

Mary Poppins Returns takes place 25 years after the first film and is set during the 1930s depression-era London, which happens to be the time period of P.L. Travers' original novels. The story follows the now-grown children Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer) who've experienced a personal loss. With the help from her lamplighter friend Jack ( Lin-Manuel Miranda), Mary Poppins returns to help the Banks family with her magic once again.
The movie is currently being filmed in London under the direction of Rob Marshall. The cast also includes Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Dick Van Dyke, and Angela Lansbury. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are writing new songs for the movie, with David Magee penning the script based on Travers' later novels.
Director Marshall explained that this new film isn't a reboot, but rather an "extension" of Mary Poppins since he's working with other novels from Travers.
Marry Poppins Returns opens in theaters December 25, 2018.
