Tomb Raider Reboot Casts Hateful 8's Walton Goggins as Villain

Walton Goggins is in final negotiations to star as the antagonist in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot movie.

Other than Goggins' role as the villain, no other details about his character are known, according to Variety.

Goggins, who recently stared in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight and HBO's Vice Principals, will join Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl), who was cast earlier this year to play Lara Croft.

Roar Uthaug will direct the latest film adaptation of the popular franchise and has said that it will draw inspiration from the latest Tomb Raider games. More recently, we learned that the film would focus on Lara Croft's search for her father.

The Tomb Raider reboot will open in theaters on March 16, 2018.
