Sprint and Niantic Announce New Pokemon Go Partnership

Charge and battle.

Mobile provider Sprint and Pokemon Go developer Niantic announced a new partnership that turns every Sprint store into Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms.

The new change affects the 10,500 Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Sprint Radio Shack locations. On top of being Gyms and Stops, Sprint locations also allow players to recharge their phones, something Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure mentioned often during the announcement teleconference call.

Sprint also promises sweepstakes, competition, and special offers for Trainers. The new change begins on Monday.

The stores will be either Pokestops or Gyms. Sprint didn't give details as to what deciding factor designates one or the other.

Recently, the existence of Ditto in Pokemon Go was officially announced after much speculation. Niantic confirmed the shape-shifting Pokemon was part of the Pokemon Go bestiary late last month.
