Nex Machina Is Housemarque's New Game for PS4

"The most explosive top-down action shooter Housemarque has ever created."

Nex Machina, a new top-down shooter from Resogun developer Housemarque, was revealed today for PS4 during Sony's keynote at PSX 2016.

In a post on PlayStation Blog, Housemarque's Mikael Haveri shared a few details on the title, which is being created in collaboration with Defender and Smash TV creator Eugene Jarvis.

Nex Machina, which roughly means "Death Machine," draws inspiration from some of Jarvis' prior works, like Robotron and Smash TV, and "focuses on pure arcade action, voxel destruction, and competition" to deliver "the most explosive top-down action shooter Housemarque has ever created."

The game is set in a reality where machines have begun to take over humanity, refusing to serve their creators. As such, it's up to the player, a "blue a mysterious hero," who must save humanity from the evil robot threat.
