The Arrowverse "Invasion!" crossover has come to a close, but the door remains open for more crossovers in the future.
The Flash, Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow all exist in the same universe, while Supergirl resides in a different part of the multiverse on Earth-38. But the conclusion of the "Invasion!" crossover added a new wrinkle that makes bringing Supergirl into the fold a lot easier in the future.

At the end of Legends of Tomorrow's "Invasion!" episode, Cisco gave Kara a breach device that allows her to travel between Earth-38 and Earth-1 with ease. So does that mean the show is going to regularly set up crossovers between Supergirl and the rest of the Arrowverse? Though the point is to simplify crossovers in the future, it doesn't sound like Kara is going to be overusing the breach device in the near future.
"They've gotten to the point where we wanted to make that a little bit easier, and it's certainly -- the next time we do it, it means it doesn't necessarily have to be because Oliver and Barry need Kara; it could be because Kara needs them," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased at a press event. "We don't have anything planned. We just barely survived this [crossover], so we're not too concerned with what we're going to try to do next year, but it just gives us another way to come at a story."
There is at least one crossover on the horizon: Supergirl and the Flash will team up later this season for a musical crossover. It's unclear whether Kara will go to Barry for help or vice versa, but at least that will be an opportunity to put Cisco's device to good use.
Even though Supergirl has now met Team Flash, Team Arrow and most of the Legends of Tomorrow (where in the world is Rip Hunter?!), don't expect there to be many nods to communication between the different characters in the coming season of the show. That being said, it's something that might be worked into the four shows moving forward, especially now that it's even easier between Supergirl and the rest of the Arrowverse to get in touch.
"We don’t have any specific plans for that, " said Kreisberg. "Hearing those little shoutouts along the way I think does a service to the relationships that they’ve all formed -- that it isn’t like the crossovers of the ‘80s where they’d see each other for that one episode and then it was like it never happened. These things do happen and they do have ramifications and not all of the ramifications are always bad; some of ‘em are good because now these people have these amazing relationships that can continue on."
When asked if he could see the Arrow, Flash and Legends casts heading to National City in a future crossover, Kreisberg said, "Maybe next year."
