Why Zack Snyder Is Not Checking in on Justice League

Snyder made an iPhone short film after leaving Justice League.

Director Zack Snyder recently discussed why he's keeping his distance from Justice League, saying he isn't worried about how the DC film is shaping up.

In an interview with Wired, Snyder revealed he hasn't been checking in on Justice League since parting ways with the project earlier this year following a family tragedy. The Batman v Superman director believes it'd be "unfair in a lot of ways" for him to get involved with Justice League at this point, and doesn't want to interfere with the cast and crew's work on the film.

"I'm at a place where I feel excited about it and I'm happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they're my family and I think they're doing an amazing job," said Snyder. As such, Synder said he's "kind of just let them do their thing."

Instead, he's been making a short iPhone movie called Snow Steam Iron, which you can watch a snippet of on Snyder's Twitter account.

Joss Whedon will receive a screenplay credit for his work on Justice League, while Zack Snyder will receive sole directing credit.

Justice League opens in theaters on November 17. For more on the film, read about Batman and Wonder Woman's dynamic in the movie, as well as why Ben Affleck thinks Justice League is an "interesting product of two directors".
