iPhone X Will Reportedly Suffer From a Production Delay

Think of the Ani-mojis.

iPhone X customers may have to wait until next year before they receive their phone.

The device is already expected to launch in short supply this November 3, but reports say that the production delays are much worse than previously thought.

According to a report from chip analyst Christopher Caso, production for the upcoming Apple device is yet to start, pushing the date when customers should be receiving their phones from this holiday season to an indefinite point in 2018.

Caso relays information from his discussions with "supply chain players", stating:

"Initial feedback [...] suggests that final production of iPhone X has not yet begun, with production expected to commence in mid-October."

"That production start is about a month later when compared to expectations a month ago, and about 2 months later than expectations at the end of June."

This new information, when compared with previous iPhone X supply expectations, suggests that it will be remarkably tough for consumers to get their hands on the iPhone X for a long time after its initial launch.

Apple revealed the iPhone X as well as the iPhone 8 and 8 plus as part of their special event on September 12. For all of the news from the busy conference, see IGN's summary.
