Don't Miss Every Bonecharm Location in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Bonecharms are an important aspect to giving your character different bonuses. Unlike Dishonored 1 and 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider does not feature Runes to upgrade your powers, and so Bonecharms are your only options.

You can find them within levels or craft them using the Bonecharm Crafting ability to customize your character with various abilities. When equipped, bonecharms can have four positive traits, but can also a single negative effect if they are corrupted. The more traits a bone charm has, the more likely it is to be corrupted and have a negative effect.

There are six bonecharms to find in this mission.

After taking out the first group of guards in the Northern Campo Seta District, look up above the train tracks for a balcony to a residence, and use the pipes up on the left side to enter the home. Inside, look to the right to find your first Bonecharm.

In the Albarca Baths fight club room, look for a doorway leading into the locker rooms, and look along the ceiling for an open hole to climb up through into the first floor boiler room. Up here, there’s another Bonecharm you can grab on the nearby desk.

In the floor above the Albarca Baths fight club, Head right along the upper walkway until you reach a makeshift bar, with a single man sweeping up the place and claim his Workshop Key. Look to the right of the path going behind the counter to find a locked drawer you can open to find a Black Bonecharm.

Head back out onto the balcony over the fight club and enter the first door on the right. In this small generator room, you can find another Black Bonecharm in a vise.

Find the leader of the Eyeless in the far upper room, Jeanette Lee, and once she has been taken out, be sure to loot her body to claim a Corrupt Bonecharm.

Get Jeanette's Key from the boss and use it to free Daud from the Suppressor Machine. After Daud has cleared out the room, head into the Bookmaker’s booth and take the Corrupt Bonecharm lying on the desk.

There are 18 Bonecharms to find in Mission 2

At the start of the missions, use Foresight to look up at the roof of the green building next to the locked gate, and you can spot a swirling yellow item that denotes a Bonecharm.

Use Displace to get to the roof of the carriage stop, then to the top of the gate and onto a nearby lamp post so you can then displace to the roof of the green building where the Black Bonecharm awaits you.

Enter the Red Camellia through the back alley entrance. Once the maid is out of the way, look around the front desk of the beauty parlor to find a Corrupt Bonecharm stashed just behind the desk.

Enter the apartment building next to the Red Camellia leading to the Dentist’s Office. Inside, enter the first room on the left and look for a bookcase with a grate over it, and push the button on the right to raise the grate and obtain the Bonecharm.

Head down the main avenue from the Red Camellia and take a right past the performing mime. As you head down stairs, look for a low roof over on the left above some pipes, and displace over to it. On the other side of the roof is a lower roof with a whale oil spill, and near it you can find a Corrupt Bonecharm under a large pipe.

EditBonecharm 5, 6, 7, and 8

All of these Bonecharms are located at the Black Market, which is under the road across from Ivan Jacobi's office.

If you want to rob the Black Market like you could in Dishonored 2, listen to the nearby rats to learn of a secret path into the marketplace.

Smash the nearby sign to find an open grate, and use your powers spy inside the place, and look at the locked door to find the code posted on the other side. Now you can unlock the door and sneak up to knock out the merchant - and help yourself to the two Black Bonecharms, two Corrupt Bonecharms, and other goods.

Head to Colibron Plaza where Ivan Jacobi is preparing a speech. Look for the tent behind where Ivan is rehearsing.

There’s a guard watching it that you can lure away, or you can use Semblance on a guard back on the main road and simply walk into the tent, where you will find a Black Bonecharm sitting on a desk with Ivan’s notes and other loot.

In the apartment building across from where Ivan Jacobi is rehearsing his speech, head down to the basement. As you enter the wine cellar with the broken wall and large floodlight, look along the right into the shelving in the cellar, and you can spot a Corrupt Bonecharm lying near-hidden in one of the drawers.

Head up the tall stairs going past Ivan Jacobi's office towards the bank plaza.

At the top of the stairs, note a balcony above you on the right, and use Displace to get above the spiked fence and over to the patio. Next to the reclining chair, you can find a Bonecharm on a small table.

At the plaza in front of the gate to the bank, look along the side along the road to Shan Yu's home for Cienfuegos Pharmacy.

If you look up at the widows on the second floor, one of them is open. In here, you can find a Black Bonecharm behind a glass display cabinet.

Enter the home of Shan Yun using the secret knock found in Eolina's residence.

Once inside, look to the right of the entrance you find yourself in, and you can find a Bonecharm in a display case sitting just under a large painting. However, breaking the glass will alert all three guards on this floor - so you may want to take them out first before trying to steal the bonecharm.

In Shan Yun's home, sneak into the kitchen and take out a servant to get the Dumbwaiter Room Key. With the key in hand, climb into the dumbwaiter in the kitchen and hit the number 2 button to get up to the second floor. In this room, you can find a Bonecharm right on the desk.

Shan Yun himself holds this Bonecharm. He can be found in his home on the third floor bedroom, with two guards stationed outside.

In Shan Yun's study is a safe that can only be opened by voice - and needs a certain song to be played. Steal the golden audiograph from the second floor private gallery, and play it in the nearby audiograph player to open the safe. Once you open the safe, you can help yourself to the Bonecharm, as well as some other loot.

Visit the Spector Club - either by sneaking in from Shan Yun's house or getting an Eyeless tattoo at the Red Camellia. Once you get inside the main bar area, be sure to check behind the bar counter for a Corrupt Bonecharm near where the Bartender is standing.

At the Spector Club bar, unlock the door to the saferoom where a lone woman is tending to. Quickly enter the restricted area and close the door before choking out the woman, and taking the Black Bonecharm lying on the desk.

There are 11 Bonecharms to find in this mission.

Just like the previous mission, if you use Foresight and look up at the green building to the right of the main gate, you’ll find that once again there is a Corrupt Bonecharm up on the roof. Use displace to get above the carriage station and onto the lamp posts to reach it, and you’ll find a stash of items along with it in a blue box.

While you’re in the area, revisit the Dentist’s Office near the Red Camellia and head out onto the rooftop. Up here, you’ll find a Bonecharm on the center desk in the middle of the rooftop area.

Head to the large boat docked near where you can start at with the skiff in the canal. The boat is locked up, but by using Foresight you can find a drowned body under the boat holding the key.

Once you find the key to the boat under the boat itself, slip aboard and unlock the door to find a Black Bonecharm among the ship’s loot.

Speaking to the rats around here, you may hear whispers of a Bonecharm stashed under a wooden crate somewhere around here. If you enter the shack - the same one you deposited the blood infusion victim in the previous mission by the canal - you’ll find the Bonecharm under a crate behind some sheet metal in the corner of the room.

Head to the Dolores Michaels Bank and find the painter's lift on the side of the building - and power up the lift with a whale oil dispenser by the sanitation entrance.

Displace across the gap and then take a right when getting onto the roof, and head to the corner where you can find a table near a bonfire that has a Bonecharm sitting atop it.

From the Inner Atrium, use the stairwell to head down to the sub-level basement. Stick to the left side as you enter the Archives area until you reach a back room where an employee is sleeping on his bed, Check the drawers above his stove, and you’ll find a Corrupt Bonecharm stashed away.

Upon reaching Dolores Michaels office on the top floor of the Inner Atrium, look for a button at her desk to open a secret area. Check behind the note in Dolores Michaels’ secret compartment, and you’ll find a Black Bonecharm hanging on the wall.

To get this bonecharm, you must solve a lengthy puzzle which can be quite a doozy.

When you first enter the bank, on the third floor stairwell, be sure to check the side door to find a storage room with a chalkboard full of numbers. The note on the board is about the Vault Safe Code, and states that there are a sequence of numbers, and each number is generated by the number before it - but the method they are generated is unknown.

Those familiar with math will recognize the drawings as the Fibonacci sequence - the sequence of numbers where the next number in the sequence can be found by adding the current and previous numbers.

Once you unlock the Main Vault, you'll find 6 safe boxes - one of which needs two keys, while the rest have 3-digit codes. The numbers on the blackboard are the first half of the sequence, which translates to the first three combinations - but you'll need all of them to open all of the safes at once.

Use the guide below to input each code in the correct order - making sure to skip over the numbers that would have been used in vault 4, where the keyholes are.

Vault Number
Combination Sequence
Vault 1
011
Vault 2
235
Vault 3
813
Vault 4
213 (SKIP)
Vault 5
455
Vault 6
891

Entering every combination will allow you to gain the Black Bonecharm in Vault 2.

EditBonecharm 9, 10, and 11

The last three Bonecharms can be bought at the Black Market - regardless of whether you bought or robbed the place in the previous mission.

If you want to steal them rather than pay, make sure you get the Wrench in the sewer access under the bank, then head to the avenue where the market is located to find a sealed door under the stairs.

Using the Access Wrench, open the door to find a passage overlooking the Black Market shopkeeper. Hit her with an electric bolt that will knock her out - at which point you can hit the red button with a voltaic shot or hagpearl to open the door - letting you plunder the two Corrupt Bonecharms and one Black Bonecharm - and more - for free.

There are 12 Bonecharms in this mission - 3 of which can only be obtained by completing the Contracts in this mission.

From the starting area, head across the small road to a red building with a bar on the second floor. You'll find three Overseers trying to bust down a door to find a thief.

Once the Overseers are dealt with, check one of the tables in the main bar room to find a Bonecharm on top of the table.

EditBonecharm 2, 3, and 4

At the other end of the street, enter the apartment on the end and head up to find a Black Market selling three Bonecharms.

If you’d rather not pay, make sure you buy the last upgrades you need, then exit the shop and return outside. Once outside, look up for a balcony high up you can displace to using nearby pipes, and sneak into the shop.

The door is locked here, but the rats have found an open grate you can use Foresight to get through and place a displace marker behind the shopkeeper. Now return and zip past the owner and take her out, letting you take all the items you need.

From the building with the bar, look across the small alley for a heavily booby-trapped apartment on the second floor balcony.

You’ll need to be very careful infiltrating the house, as there are tripwires everywhere - especially on the upper floor where the goal is.

Once you have the first floor clear, head into the office area and look up to see piping - but it’s also lined with tripwires - however the pipes on the left when you look up give you a safe place to start disarming. Once you get to the balcony itself, get rid of the wall of tripwires and open the safe to get your prize.

Entering the Royal Conservatory from the Lobby, go behind the front desk to find a Moruge Key.

Head to the second floor of the Exhibition Hall and look for a barred window area sticking out of the balcony where many corpses have been stashed. Since you grabbed the Morgue Key downstairs, you can unlock the door and make your away among the bodies and rats to the open area with the barred windows where their belongings have been stacked. Among all the coins, you can find a Black Bonecharm in the pile of clothes.

From the second floor of the Exhibition Hall, look for a doorway near the entrance to the makeshift Morgue to find a secondary passage leading to the second floor of the lobby. In the room on the left as you enter, there’s a lone Overseer inspecting a table with a Bonecharm that you can steal.

If you save the Witch trapped in the Interrogation Room in the sub-basement, she'll tell you of a key to a sealed door with a key nearby.

Head to the second floor of the lobby and look for a steel sealed door. This is the the area where the Witches made their final stand, and although they were all shot through the door, it’s been locked and the Abbey has been unable to reach them. Turn to your left from the door to spot a painting that’s hanging crookedly, and look along the top left to find a stashed Witches’ Key to enter and find a Bonecharm on the body of a Witch.

On the second floor of the Curator's Office, Brother Cardoza has set up a makeshift autopsy lab. Check behind a couch in the back room and you can find a desk with a note, and opening the drawer underneath will reveal a Corrupt Bonecharm.

EditBonecharm 10, 11, and 12

The final three Bonecharms can only be obtained if you complete the three Contracts in this mission:

The Risky Wager contract can be completed by getting to the safe that holds Bonecharm #5

The Pilfer the Prophecies Contract can be found on the top floor of the Exhibition Hall, by checking the broken elevator cab where a Witch has died to find the book has fallen into the elevator.

The Alvaro and the Abbey Contract can only be completed if you are willing to go a lethal route and kill everyone in the Conservatory, with the exception of Alvaro himself. Instead, knock him out, and return to the interrogation room in the basement, and place him on the free musical chair.

There are twenty-seven Bonecharms located in this mission. Note that there are only a finite amount of different kinds of Bonecharms, and you will obtain Whale Bone instead of duplicates that still count towards your Bonecharm total.

From the starting area, inside the small building on the left is an old locker room, and among the shelves at the back you can find a Bonecharm below some Hook Mines.

Also outside of the starting area, ahead on the main road, look up along the roofs to find piping leading to a multi-story dormitory.

If you follow pipes up to the higher level on the right, enter the room to find a Bonecharm stuffed in a locker at the back.

From the dormitory, head back onto the roof and climb to the higher building on the right to find a ceiling to drop through into an engine room.

There’s a barred gate at the end of the room, but if you look for a small control room on the side, you can find a valve to turn to open the gate - but it closes as soon as you let go. While holding the gate open, activate Foresight to move into the room while the gate is frozen in place so you can create a Displace marker, then teleport through the gate to find a Bonecharm.

Head down the main path from the starting area to a main gate where two Cultists are trying to kill a deserter. One of the cultists carries with him a Bonecharm, and even mutters about it when he walks.

After they kill the fleeing cultist, wait until they separate to drop down on the one by the dump, then sneak up on the cultists by the archway and take his Black Bonecharm.

In the building to the left of the first group of Cultists, look up from the middle to the second floor on the left to spot a boarded up door.

If you have the increased jumping bonecharm, you can leap up and break the boards to open the door. In here you’ll find a Black Bonecharm, as well as an open window looking out into a rail station full of Cultists.

EditBonecharm 6 and 7

At the rail station yard with the lift, two of the four Cultists stationed here carry Bonecharms - one sitting a ledge by the lift, and one patrolling the roof of a nearby low building.

EditBonecharm 8 and 9

Two Bonecharms are carried by Cultists who inhabit the large building in front of the rail station and lift leading to the mines. Enter the side door and head up the stairwell to the top floor where they are working.

As you enter the Shindaery Mine through the overturned minecart, one of the Cultists talking about the Envisioned carried a Bonecharm you can swipe while they walk up the path further into the mines - but be quick to steal it before the enter a larger chamber crawling with more Cultists.

EditBonecharm 11 and 12

From the first sighting of the Envisioned, take the path to the right along narrow walkways to a door leading to a dormitory.

There are two more Bonecharm holding Cultists here, the one below who goes to stand by a Forbidden Entry sign, and one up on a higher platform patrolling an area near a generator. Displace up to the office above to gain a vantage point over the Cultists and strike when they separate to gain a Bonecharm and Black Bonecharm.

Enter the generator room after taking out the Cultists, and look for a bunk bed where you can find a Corrupt Bonecharm resting on top.

EditBonecharm 14, 15, and 16

Outside the sleeping quarters is a large area along the minecart tracks, where three Cultists in this open area carry Bonecharms.

One who holds a Black Bonecharm is seated at the table by the generator outside the dormitory, one with a Bonecharm down below digging near the building entrance going towards the Library, and one holding another Bonercharm on a ledge above watching him. These are best stolen from the guise of Semblance.

Once in the Library, head to the bottom floor and go left below the passage to the Eye.

One of the three Cultists speaking below the path to the Eye carries a Bonecharm. Wait until they finish speaking and sit down to drop down behind the one close to the chandelier and knock him out and displace away with the body - or just steal the Bonecharm.

Just around the corner from where the three Cultists are chatting, another Cultist holding a Bonecharm sits with his back to the rails of the ground floor.

He can be harder to take out given the Cultists on the catwalk above him - so consider breaking something nearby to catch his attention.

EditBonecharm 19, 20, and 21

Up on the second floor of the Library, enter the passage to where several Cultists are observing a projector showing screens of the Envisioned.

Three Cultists in this room carry Bonecharms: One watching the projection from farther back, and two very close to the projections. As stated before, it’s better to use Semblance to steal them rather than try sneaking or taking them out.

EditBonecharm 22 and 23

Finally, the area above where the small crawlspace led to from the engine room has a large catwalk upon where two Cultists patrol, and a third stands at the end.

Two of these Cultists have Bonecharms. Again, using Semblance is best, unless you want to snatch the lone one on the end while the others patrol the other way, then take them out when they come to investigate.

From the catwalks above the Library, Displace up to the crevice leading to the Eye.

One of the two Cultists talking here also carries a Bonecharm, which you can steal when they are facing the wall talking to each other, or wait until they are done talking and separate to slink in.

Once in the void, grab the key from the dead Cultist on the edge of the plateau, and return to his room in the sleeping quarters marked "Entry Forbidden".

Note that the man has drawn the Mark of the Outsider everywhere, especially next to all the smaller runes and tagged them with numbers.

Upon close inspection, the Mark of the Outsider is a combination of three runes: the upper left portion, the middle portion, and the right portion. Find the corresponding runes and numbers, and enter them in left to right on the nearby safe to open it and find a Corrupt Bonecharm.

EditBonecharm 26 and 27

The final Bonecharms are held by two cultists on a large plateau overlooking the entrance to the Ritual Hold (stay on the left path along the cliffs of the Void rather than returning to the mine entrance).

These cultists can be rather tough to get to considering the Envisioned that stalks among them. You’ll need to hide behind the rock where the two Cultists are taking photos of the void-altered chair.

Wait for the Envisioned to head back down the path, then quickly displace among the Cultists and steal what you can - or bring a body with you to use Semblance on (but be wary as it won’t work on the Envisioned!).
