Zombieland Director Will Bring Valiant Comics' Archer & Armstrong to the Big Screen


Pirates of the Caribbean franchise scribe Terry Rossio is writing the script.

Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer will helm the film adaptation of the action-comedy comic book Archer & Armstrong.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, independent comic publisher Valiant Entertainment has been interested in moving into film production, and wants Archer & Armstrong to be one of the company's first movie projects.

Fleischer will direct from a script by Pirates of the Caribbean franchise scribe Terry Rossio, who recently became the creative lead on the MonsterVerse for Legendary, which includes King Kong and Godzilla. Jason Brown, Sean Daniel, and Valiant CEO and CCO Dinesh Shamdasani are producing.

Archer & Armstrong was created in the 1990s by former Marvel editor-in-chief Jim Shooter and Wolverine: Weapon X artist and writer Barry Windsor-Smith. The story follows the friendship between immortal warrior Armstrong and a teenager named Archer who has been training his whole life to murder Armstrong. No release date has been set yet.
