ARRRRGH! What's going on with SmackDown Live? It just doesn't feel like there's a real plan in place, and that things are getting shifted week to week. It may not be the case but it feels that way and I'm full of goddamn feels these days.
Also ARRRRRGGGGH! Why can't we just get a real life Sister Abigail female wrestler person? Good lord! Just cast her. Make her flesh. Let her be real. This has been going on so long.
The funny thing is that back when Bray first mentioned Sister Abigail, a lot of us were trying to phantom fill that role. Hell, I even brought up Daffney as a candidate and this was back when she had already fully stoped being an in-ring competitor. Then we started looking at the NXT roster. But truth be told, NXT wrestlers don't fully change when they get called up. They basically keep their NXT character, win or lose. So right now Nikki Cross could easily become Sister Abigail but that would mean she'd have to do a name change and morph into a Wyatt storyline.
Nope, nowadays Sister Abigail would have to be brought in. An indie wrestler who's not in NXT that could come in, without really going the NXT route, shock people, and be "WWE ready." It's becoming a less likely scenario really. Sister Abigail and all the wonders she could bring as a real life character has pretty much faded at this point. Also, she may just be a pile of worms. Just a big ol' stack of nightcrawlers.
Also also - POOR WORMS! Set ablaze by Randy Orton (along with one or two camera operators too, I think) as part of his grand revenge scheme against Bray Wyatt.
Dammit, Randal, if you're going to do your turnbuckle pose, at least have it framed so you're holding the fire.
This ambush, of a sorts, came after Randy had already refused to fight Bray at WrestleMania, thus leading us into two extra, and now possibly worthless, weeks of trying to find a contender for the WWE title. Can Randy now change his mind and challenge Bray after he refused it? Why didn't he just challenge his master to begin with? Was it so that he could get the keys to the shed? I'm serious. Was his refusal to fight Bray the reason he was granted access to the Abigail barn? Was his whole plan then to say no to fighting, burn Abigail's bones like a dang Winchester, and then say yes? This is the worst plan the Viper ever viped.
That being said. NOOOOOO BRAY WYATT! DON'T BE CRY! HE WAS SO SAAAAAD!
Bray's harsh reaction pretty much made Randy's entire scheme a giant heel move. I mean, Bray hasn't been cheating. He's been winning clean. He's also seriously cut back on his kidnapping. Hell, he didn't even nab Randy in order to "indoctrinate" him. What has Bray even really been doing this past year to make him a bad guy? Dick move, Orton. Also...arson. Kind of against the law. Terrible Ash Wednesday joke, Randy.
Something else to consider...this punishment doesn't really fit the crime. What happened to Randy? He lost a match. Bray beat him at a PPV. After that, Orton was like "I'm going to desecrate his family's sacred ground in horrifying ways." Who's the real monster here?
Blerf. Are we getting a Fatal Fourway now? A Triple Threat? Is AJ vs. Shane still on? Is Luke Harper out now completely? If he's getting sidelined at 'Mania, at least have him win the Andre Battle Royal or something. It's all so confounding and sloppy. We'll see. Shane and Bryan still have "a lot to talk about." Decrees will be made. Blood will boil over. AJ will probably get heated about something. And look, by the way, AJ still clearly lost that Number One Contender Battle Royal. Shane and Bryan were watching the video over and over again at the top of the show, scratching their heads - when AJ clearly fell off the apron before Luke. They did not topple at the same time. This still buggeth me. Maybe it'll come back into the story.
And why have Luke lose to AJ twice in one match? The match got re-started and Luke still lost, despite AJ being totally distracted by Shane. Well, not distracted enough I guess...
All of this is to say that SmackDown still has me worried from on the WrestleMania front. AND that I want a flesh and bone Sister Abigail to be a thing that exists. Because, as you well know, when a wrestler gets a new gal, or a new heavy, their win streak gets extended even more. It gives them at least half a year more of tainted victories due to the reinvigoration/repackaging factor. Bringing her out now could mean Bray gets to be champ more than a month.
