Next No Man's Sky Update Coming This Week

Mako break.

Hello Games has announced that the next content update for no man's Sky will be released for free this week.

The Path Finder Update was announced on the developer's blog, and will introduce "a new vehicle that will aid home planet exploration."

More detailed patch notes will be released when the update goes live, but Hello Games makes clear that Path Finder is only the beginning of what it has planned for the future of the controversial game, saying that it builds "on the Foundation Update to hint at a path ahead for the future."

The hugely hyped game received a backlash upon release, with our reviewer saying that "the promise of limitless exploration ended up working against it when I lost faith that it had any more meaningful things to show me no matter how far I traveled."

The criticism is something Hello Games is keen to make clear it's taken onboard, with the blog post concluding: "To those of you who have spent time sharing feedback, whether positive or negative, we are listening. This is the next step in our journey. It shows the path forward. We hope you’ll join us."

Hello Games recently announced the Hello Labs funding initiative, providing support for developers making experimental games.
