Matrix Reboot in The Works at Warner Bros., Says Report

A new report says that Warner Bros. is in the early stages of bringing back the seminal 1999 sci-flick, The Matrix.

Sources close to THR say that Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk, Ready Player One) is currently in talks with the company to write a treatment, and there is "potential interest" in Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panter) to star in the reboot.

According to the publication, The Matrix creators the Wachowski siblings are not at all involved in the project, but Warner would want their blessing were it to move forward.

During his press tour for John Wick 2, original Matrix star Keanu Reeves said he would be open to returning to another instalment provided the Wachowskis wrote and directed.
