Mass Effect: Andromeda DLC Multiplayer Maps Will Be Free

More to explore.

BioWare has confirmed that any multiplayer maps added to Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released for free.

Company GM, Aaryn Flynn (as spotted by WWG) outlined the idea in a reply to a fan question on Twitter:

It's seems as good as a confirmation that Andromeda will follow Mass Effect 3's lead by adding post-launch map packs, too.

The last game in the series added five free multiplayer expansions, including new and remixed maps, as well as new characters and equipment (although the latter two had to earned through random loot boxes either earned or bought).

If you're an EA Access or Origin Access subscriber, the game's 10 hour early access trial will let you play as much multiplayer as you want (but not as much campaign). We also know for sure that non-human characters will be playable in multiplayer once more.

Our IGN First this month is all about Mass Effect: Andromeda - check out every one of our exclusive reveals so far.

Joe Skrebels is IGN's UK News Editor, and he will end up playing more multiplayer than single player, guaranteed. Come at me, galaxy. Follow him on Twitter.
