Ghostbusters VR Game Gets Surprise Release

I ain't afraid of no ghost!

In a surprise release today, Sony dropped a Ghostbusters VR game on the PlayStation Store.

Ghostbusters is Hiring: Firehouse is the first episode in a planned series of Ghostbusters games for the PS VR. Produced by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, the Ghostbusters VR - Now Hiring series takes place in the cinematic universe explored last year in the 2016 remake.

During this episode, players will be able to hang out in the firehouse HQ from the movie, play with the ghostbusting weapon of choice, a proton pack, and check out some of the ghosts, including iconic troublemaker, Slimer.

The Playstation Store description also encourages players to explore the VR world, "Don’t leave any stone unturned as ghostly surprises await your discovery."

The release of this series may come as a surprise, as the developer of the last movie tie-in game for Ghostbusters filed for bankruptcy three days after its release.

Ghostbusting is Hiring: Firehouse is $6.99 USD on the US PlayStation Store and is yet to land on the UK and AU stores.

The Ghostbusters VR - Now Hiring series is also available in non-VR form on the Google Play store and iOS App Store.
