First PlayStation Plus April Free Game Revealed

David Jaffe's new third-person shooter launches next month.

Drawn to Death, Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe's new third-person shooter, will be a part of the PlayStation Plus free games lineup when it launches on April 4.

Jaffe revealed the game's PS Plus status on the PlayStation Blog, in addition to revealing five new features for the game. Sphinx missions will have players tackling the Sphinx's battle-centric riddles, each unlocking weapons or levels, 15 character-focused missions for each of the six launch characters will earn players costumes and taunts, mystery boxes filled with character skins or taunts can be earned for accumulating kills, a Climb the Tower feature — the launch tower's theme will be Dark Fairy Tales — and finally what Jaffe calls the "Insane Mystery Special Offer."

The arena shooter with a hand-drawn, sketchbook visual look, was first revealed at PSX in 2014 as the first game from Jaffe's studio The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency.

Jaffe confirmed the April 4 launch date in an interview on the PlayStation Blog earlier this year, but the game's inclusion as a PS Plus free game was only revealed today. Drawn to Death, which takes place inside the notebook of a high school student, will otherwise carry a $19.99 price tag for players to download. Each of the game's modes will support up to four players.
