First Game of Thrones: Season 7 Teaser Poster Gets Literal With Ice and Fire

Still no premiere date.

The first teaser poster for Game of Thrones Season 7 was released by HBO at SXSW.

The image, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, doesn't feature any characters or recognizable settings from the show. However, it does heavily hint at the inevitable war between fire and ice in this penultimate season. Check out the poster below.

Beyond the new poster, HBO has still not revealed the exact premiere date for the new season. However, Sir Davis Seaworth actor Liam Cunningham let slip that Game of Thrones will return later than usual sometime this July. Cunnigham also confirmed Season 7 will indeed have a "lot of characters coming together."

Harry Potter alum Jim Broadbent recently revealed he's portraying an archmaester on the show and has filmed most of his scenes with Sam Tarley actor John Bradley.
