Bungie Outlines Destiny: Age of Triumph Weekly Rituals

Weekly Story Playlist, Treasure of Ages look boxes and more on the way.

Destiny: Age of Triumph kicks off later this month, and Bungie has outlined the weekly rituals that will be part of the game's final live event.

Bungie senior designer Tim Williams revealed that Age of Triumph will bring with it loot boxes called Treasure of Ages during today's developer livestream. These boxes give players to opportunity to acquire any of the event-based items they missed previously, including armor, Ghosts, Sparrow racing emblems and emotes.

New items, including Age of Triumph armor set, ornaments, ships and shaders can also be acquired. Bungie teased a new armor set would be available for each class (which it plans to unveil next week) along with new Legendary weapon ornaments, ships and shaders. Each box includes two guaranteed items and one new item. The Silver Dust kiosk will be updated, allowing players to exchange any Silver Dust currency acquired for Treasure of Ages.

The last Destiny live event will give players the opportunity revisit all of the prior story-based content and offer a new 12-step Age of Triumph questline. The current Daily Story Mission offering will be replaced by a Weekly Story Playlist that will reward those who complete the playlist with one Treasure of Ages and up to 100 Legendary Marks. The playlist will rotate through all settings seen in Destiny, with Earth and Moon being featured the first week.

Changes are coming to the Crucible as well. There will be two weekly bounties added to 6v6 mode gametypes, and the Crucible will feature a 6v6 playlist that rotates every week.

According to Bungie, Age of Triumph is also creating an end game for everyone with Challenge of Elders. Players will be rewarded with 10 Legendary Marks for the first three completions each week, allowing you to earn a total of 30 marks over the course of a given week. A Legendary Engram is also guaranteed to those who play every week.

Bungie also outlined changes coming to the Nighfall Strikes with a new modifier called Daybreak.  Daybreak is a mix of two strike modifiers, Epic - which summons more aggressive enemies -- and Mayhem -- a faster super recharge.  The Daybreak modifier will initially appear once every four weeks, then, starting July 18, there will be six consecutive weeks up through August. The weekly Nightfall chance for a Legendary Engram will not change, but Bungie has re-introduced the Blue Flame XP buff. It will last until the next weekly reset.

Age of Triumph begins on March 28. Bungie will hold another livestream next week to discuss the new gear and Raids that will be featured Destiny's final live event.
