Season 3 of Syfy's time-traveling thriller series 12 Monkeys will premiere on May 19.
In addition, Entertainment Weekly reports that Syfy has renewed the show for a fourth and final season, which will span 10 episodes and air sometime in 2018.
Meanwhile, all 10 episodes of 12 Monkeys: Season 3 will debut over the course of three consecutive nights. The first four episodes will air on Friday, May 19, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The next three episodes will air on Saturday, May 20, from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT, and the final three will air in that same time slot on Sunday, May 21.
Showrunner Terry Matalas discussed Syfy's three-night release approach, telling EW that "each night is going to play like a summer blockbuster." Matalas also spoke to Season 3's focus on children, saying, "it's very much the life of one child as the show really explores what it means for these characters to have any kind of notion of family."
