Mike Colter, star of Marvel's Luke Cage, has tabled possible storylines that could be explored in future Marvel Netflix shows, once The Defenders miniseries has aired.
"I think that anything is possible down the road," Colter told IGN.
"We need to develop the characters. I think there’s a big-picture plan that includes everyone doing their own series, which we’ve done, culminating to make The Defenders. I think after that anything goes.
"We have the Heroes for Hire thing that could possibly happen. And we have Jessica and Luke in the Alias comics hooking up, having a child, and changing their life style. That could happen. You have a multitude of things that could happen."
With Heroes for Hire, Colter is alluding to a comic book series in which his character teams up with Iron Fist, the next Marvel hero to receive his own Netflix series. The two characters have a long history of fighting crime together in the Marvel Universe, sharing double-billing in several series down the years.
Meanwhile, the idea of Cage having a child with Jessica Jones alludes to a well-known story arc in the comics. The couple had a daughter in the mid-2000s, naming her Danielle in honour of their friend Danny Rand (aka Iron Fist).
Marvel's Luke Cage debuts on Netflix globally on September 30th, and you can read our review of the first episode here. The Defenders, which will star Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, is expected to air sometime in 2017.
