Insomniac Games has confirmed that while it would like to bring Sunset Overdrive to PC, the decision to do so lies with Microsoft.
Responding to fan queries yesterday, a studio representative on the official Insomniac Games twitter account said: "we'd love for it to come to PC, though it's up to Xbox on that one".
In another tweet in the same discussion thread, the rep added that the ball was now in "Xbox's court".
Ratchet and Clank developer Insomniac Games has addressed Sunset Overdrive’s exclusivity with Microsoft in the past, citing retaining ownership of its intellectual property as its chief concern.
Sunset Overdrive was released in October 2014 as an exclusive for Xbox One. Though there have been plenty of rumours of a PC port, previous reports were dismissed as "a simple mistake" by Microsoft, and as yet there are no plans to bring the colourful open-world shooter to any other platform.
In IGN's Sunset Overdrive review, we gave it a 9, stating: "Sunset Overdrive is big, gorgeous, and a hell of a lot of fun. Never has getting from point A to point B in an open-world game provided so much enjoyment. It provides some of the most fun, frantic, and fantastic gaming I've had on the Xbox One."
