Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a merchant within Destiny social spaces. Xûr sells Exotic weapons, armor, engrams, and consumables in exchange for Strange Coin. He can be found around the Tower or the Reef in different locations every weekend (Friday 9AM UTC to Sunday 9AM UTC).
With the release of Rise of Iron, Xûr continues to accept Strange Coin as currency for everything except Weapon Ornaments, where it will cost Silver Dust.
Xur can currently be found in the depths of the Tower Hangar underneath FWC in the bar area.
- As of Dec. 5, 2014, Xur now sells Exotic Shards in exchange for Strange Coin. Exotic Shards are used to Upgrade Exotic Weapons/Armor now.
- As of Dec. 12, 2014, Xur now offers Level Upgrades to specific Exotic Weapons/Armor in exchange for your existing Exotic Weapon/Armor, Glimmer, and Exotic Shard. Xur's stock of sellable Exotic Weapons/Armor now have the Level Upgrades that were introduced with Expansion 1, The Dark Below.
- As of May 22, 2015, Xur no longer offers Upgrades to specific Exotic Weapons/Armor in exchange for your existing Exotic Weapon/Armor, Glimmer, and Exotic Shard (Exotics can be upgraded anytime now by Ascending them). Xur also now offers Mote of Light in exchange for 2 Strange Coin.
- As of Sept 11, 2015, Xur no longer offers Exotic Shards or Weapon Telemetries for sale.
- As of Sept 18, 2015, Xur only accepts Strange Coin for all items. Xur will offer either an Exotic Weapon OR Armor, not both at the same time anymore. Three Of Coins consumable has been added that increases chance of exotic engrams to drop at Ultra Enemy Kills. There is also a Legacy Engram available that will convert into Year 1 exotics.
- As of Oct 16, 2015, Xur now offers the Glass Needles consumable in exchange for Strange Coin, Mote Of Light, & Exotic Shard. Glass Needles is used to "reroll" perks on Exotic Armor.
- As of Sept 23 2016, Xur now offers 2 Weapon Ornaments a week in exchange for Silver Dust.
