He-Man/Thundercats #1 Makes Fanboy Dreams Come True

The whole gang is here. Except Gwildor.

If you thought Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the most awesome, nostalgia-crammed crossover the comic book industry had to offer in 2016, keep in mind that the year isn't over yet. Mattel and DC Comics are about to unleash He-Man/Thundercats upon the world. Soon, the two most muscular, sword-wielding action heroes in your toy box will be joining forces to take on Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to us today, as DC gave us sight beyond sight and provided us with an extended preview of He-Man/Thundercats #1. Scroll down to check out several variant covers and a full 11 pages of interior art from the first issue. These pages will give you a good idea of how and why these two universes are colliding.

DC's official description for the first issue reads:

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe team up with the ThunderCats—the epic crossover event you’ve waited thirty years to see! In his ever-living desire to destroy the mighty ThunderCats, Mumm-Ra quests for a weapon that can rival the legendary Sword of Omens: He-Man’s Sword of Power! But his dimension-spanning scheme kick starts a cataclysmic crisis that will embroil heroes and villains—Masters, Mutants and ThunderCats—in a mind-blowing six-part saga!

He-Man/Thundercats is co-written by Rob David (Mattel's Head Writer and Master of the Universe Creative Lead) and Supervising Producer Llyod Goldfine. The series is drawn by Batman/TMNT artist Freddie E. Williams II. The first issue will be released on Wednesday, October 5.
